Ondřej Zámečník quintet is a Czecho-Slovak band that originated at Janáček Academy of Music and Performing Arts in Brno. Initially, it was formed as a Master’s project and the main goal of it was to connect an accordion with the typical jazz instruments, creating the ideal sound. Over time, the band became more than just a school project and now has its stable position in the world of jazz. All the original compositions of the band are energetic, instrumentally diverse, sometimes even naively melancholic and based on natural jazz thinking. The band prioritizes frequent changes, modifications and different approaches to jazz music and thanks to the unusual instrumental combination, it has its own distinctive sound, that offers wide range of options.
